From experience, we would advise that you read and learn as much as you can about any kind of restrictive stomach surgery such as Roux en Y (RNY), Lapband, Duodenal Switch, Stomafix etc BEFORE surgery and would be happy to recommend books and authors for you to study. If you are an author please contact us. We may add your book to our recommendation list. We read all books prior to making any recommendations. 

Obesity Freedom runs a very successful support group in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It meets on the second Wednesday of each month and is for pre-ops, posts op and people just considering surgery. We also join up with other local support groups for activities and joint functions like Meet and Greets, Barbecues, conferences, evening get togethers and Glamour Shot Sessions.

Additionally, we have recently been asked by two surgeons to consider running new Support Groups for their offices too. We need to get the word out there...........
